Tyre Repair in Al Rawdah
Cars parked along both kerbs, one lane left in the middle, and a flat tyre outside a shop on the strip. We park clear, carry the kit down, and work from the kerb side.
Half past three on one of the strips off Khurais Road, in the gap between afternoon closing and evening opening. A shop owner comes out to a front tyre sitting flat against the kerb. Al Rawdah streets are parked solid on both sides with a single lane to drive through, so the last thing the street needs is a van across it. We stop a few metres up, carry the jack and the compressor down, and keep the traffic moving past.
Cars here are older on average, and old tyres fail in ways new ones do not. Rubber ages by time rather than distance, so a tyre with plenty of tread left can be seven years old, with fine cracking across the sidewall and a carcass that will not hold a repair. We read the four-digit date code stamped on the wall. We also find old external plugs pushed in somewhere in a hurry, occasionally three in one tread, and steel rims rusted at the bead seat so the tyre weeps air all week.
The tyre comes off the rim first, because nothing sensible can be decided while it is still inflated. The liner gets read for run-flat damage and for previous repairs. If the puncture sits in the central tread and the carcass is sound, the hole is reamed and a patch-plug goes in from the inside. A rusted bead seat is wire-brushed back to clean metal and sealed. On an older wheel the valve is replaced as a matter of course. Nuts start by hand and finish on a torque wrench.
The quote comes before we start, and on an older car it comes in two parts: what the repair costs, and what we would advise instead if the tyre's age or a previous bad plug makes repairing it unsafe. We do not fit a repair we would not drive on ourselves. Nothing is added to the figure you approve — pay by cash, card or bank transfer. Evenings after the shops shut and Friday afternoons are two of our busiest windows here, and neither changes the price.
What’s included
- Van parked clear of the single running lane and the tools carried in, so the street is never blocked
- Work timed around opening and closing hours on the Al Rawdah commercial strips
- Date code read and the sidewall checked for age cracking before any repair is agreed
- Old external plugs and earlier repairs found by inspecting the liner from inside the tyre
- Rusted bead seats on older steel rims cleaned back to metal and resealed so the slow leak stops
- Spare freed from its under-body carrier, checked for pressure and age, and fitted when the tyre is finished

Tyre Repair in Al Rawdah — FAQs
Around 10 minutes to most Al Rawdah addresses. The district is compact and we run vans across east Riyadh all day and night, so the drive is rarely the problem — finding a gap at the kerb usually takes longer. Send a pin on WhatsApp with the shop name or the building colour and the technician will come straight to the car.
Yes, this is normal Al Rawdah work. We park a short distance away where nothing is blocked and bring the jack, stands, compressor and repair materials to the car on foot. The work is done from the kerb side so traffic keeps passing. If the wheel genuinely needs more room, we move the car a few metres to a wider spot first.
It does. The date code on the sidewall gives the week and year it was made, and Riyadh heat ages rubber faster than mileage does. An old tyre goes hard, cracks between the tread blocks and loses grip long before it runs out of depth. We show you the code, show you the cracking, and let you decide — but we will not patch a carcass that age.
Yes. A tyre repair at the kerb takes roughly twenty to thirty minutes once the wheel is off, and you can stay behind the counter the whole time. Tell us when your deliveries arrive so the van is not in the way. If a replacement tyre is needed we can bring it out on a second run at a time that suits the shop.
Yes. A covered bay is cooler than the street in summer and is fine for tyre work — the van carries everything and no lift is needed. Just tell building security in advance and check the height barrier on the ramp. If a wheel or the whole car has to come out, we move it up to the ramp level first.
