Mobile Car Computer Diagnostics in Riyadh
A code is a clue, not a diagnosis. We bring a professional scan tool to your car, read every module, watch live data, and tell you what actually failed.
Your check engine light is on, or the car has gone into limp mode on the Eastern Ring Road, and someone at a parts shop plugged in a cheap reader and told you to change a sensor. That reader gave you one generic code from one module. A proper diagnosis reads all the control units in the car, compares live sensor values against what the engine should be doing, and looks at the stored freeze frame that captured the moment the fault set.
We do that at your car, wherever it is parked in Riyadh. The technician connects a dealer-level tool, scans engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, body, comfort and gateway modules, records what is there before touching anything, then works from the data. Sometimes the answer is a sensor. Often it is a broken wire, a corroded earth, a vacuum leak or a mechanical fault that the sensor is only reporting. You get the fault list, the reading behind it, and a plain explanation.
What a real diagnostic session involves
First a full system scan: every module in the car, current and stored faults, plus the freeze frame data each one saved. Then live data. We watch fuel trims, mass airflow against expected load, upstream and downstream oxygen sensor traces, misfire counters per cylinder, coolant and intake temperatures, rail pressure, and the readiness monitors. Numbers under load tell the story that a static code cannot. A misfire code on cylinder three means very little until you know whether fuel trim, compression or spark is behind it.
Then actuator tests. The tool commands a component directly — fuel injector, EGR valve, cooling fan, purge valve, throttle body, ABS pump — and we confirm whether it responds. That separates a dead part from a wiring or control problem in minutes rather than by guesswork. We finish by clearing only the codes we have proven and re-testing under the conditions that set them. Clearing faults first, before understanding them, throws away the evidence, and we will not do it.
When a proper scan is worth it
- Check engine light on, flashing, or coming on and going off again
- Car suddenly won't rev past a low limit and feels dead — limp mode
- Rough idle, a stumble as you pull away, or a shudder at light throttle
- Fuel consumption has climbed with no change in your driving
- Several warnings at once — ABS, traction and airbag lights together
- Engine cranks longer than it used to before it catches
- Fan runs loud after you park, or the temperature needle sits higher than normal
- You failed a periodic inspection on emissions or an unready monitor
What the on-site diagnosis covers
- Full multi-module scan — engine, gearbox, ABS, SRS, body, climate, gateway — with the fault list saved before anything is cleared
- Freeze frame review to see the load, speed, temperature and trims at the moment each fault set
- Live data recorded at idle, on load and on a short road test where the fault needs driving conditions
- Actuator and output tests to command suspect components and confirm whether they respond
- Physical inspection of the wiring, connectors, earths and fuses in the circuit the code points to
- Vacuum, intake and exhaust leak checks where fuel trim data suggests unmetered air
- Battery and charging voltage check, since low voltage sets false faults across several modules
- Root-cause explanation in Arabic or English, plus a written fault list and the repair options
- Verified codes cleared and monitors re-run to confirm the fix, not just a reset dashboard
Why Riyadh cars set faults that others don't
Heat drives most of what we see. At 48°C an engine bay sits above 90°C, and that cooks connector seals, cracks intake hoses and pushes sensors out of tolerance long before they fail outright. Long idles in Olaya Street traffic with the AC on maximum load the alternator and heat-soak the intake, so airflow and temperature readings drift. Cars parked in the open all day set evaporative emission faults simply because fuel vapour pressure climbs in a way the system was never calibrated for.
Dust is the second factor. Fine sand loads air filters faster than any service schedule assumes, coats mass airflow sensor wires, and works into throttle bodies until the idle adaptation runs out of range. It also finds earth points and connector pins, where a thin oxide layer creates the intermittent faults that appear on cold January mornings and vanish by noon. Low battery voltage from summer heat then multiplies everything, because half the modules in a modern car will log a fault when voltage sags during cranking.
Transparent pricing — agreed before we start
Diagnosis is quoted as its own job, before we start, and it stays separate from any repair. You are paying for the scan, the live data, the tests and the verdict — not for a guess. When the technician has found the cause, you get the repair price too, itemised, so you can decide whether we do it now, do it later, or whether the job genuinely belongs in a workshop with a lift. Nothing begins until you have agreed the price.
The figure you agreed is the figure you pay. Nothing is added to it once the work is under way, and you settle by cash, card or bank transfer, whichever suits you. If we cannot reach a firm conclusion because the fault is intermittent, we tell you that plainly and give you the next step, such as leaving a recorder connected or driving the car until the fault repeats. We do not invent a part to justify the visit.

Learn moreComputer Diagnostics — questions we get
Yes. The scan tool runs off the car's own OBD port, so a villa driveway, a compound parking bay or a basement level all work fine. If the fault only shows under load, the technician will need a short drive with the tool connected and logging, so we agree a route with you first. Poor mobile signal underground does not stop the scan itself.
Around 10 minutes to most Riyadh addresses, 24 hours a day, all week including Fridays and through Ramadan and Eid. Send your location on WhatsApp with the warning lights you can see and, if you know them, the codes someone already read. That saves the technician a step and often means the diagnosis is finished on the first visit.
A basic reader shows generic engine codes only. It cannot see the ABS, airbag, gearbox or body modules, cannot read manufacturer-specific codes, cannot show live data at a useful sample rate, and cannot command an actuator. Worse, it names a part in the code text, so people replace that part and the fault stays. The code tells you the circuit that complained, not what broke.
Only after we know why it came on. Clearing a code resets the freeze frame and the readiness monitors, which destroys the evidence and can fail you at a periodic inspection for weeks afterwards. If the fault is real, the light returns anyway. We diagnose first, fix or advise, then clear and re-run the monitors to prove the repair held.
Probably yes. Most systems turn the light off after a set number of clean drive cycles but keep the fault stored in history with its freeze frame. That stored record is the most useful thing we have for an intermittent problem. A scan reads it even with the dashboard clear, so we can see whether it was a one-off voltage dip or a fault building up.
All of them. The scan covers every module the car exposes, including transmission, ABS and stability control, airbag and restraints, body control, climate, immobiliser and the gateway. Airbag faults need care: we read and record them, and we never clear a crash-stored code to hide it. Some restraint repairs then need workshop conditions, and we say so.
It tells you a lot. We read stored history in every module, check readiness monitors for a recent reset, look for mismatched software versions that hint at a replaced module, and compare live data against what the engine should show. It will not find worn brakes or a leaking shock, so we pair the scan with a physical inspection at the seller's address.
