Mobile Oil & Filter Change in Riyadh
We bring the oil, the filters and the drain pan to your parking space. Under an hour in most cases, no waiting room, and the service light reset before we leave.
An oil change is the one job that does not need a workshop at all. Our technician arrives with the correct grade for your engine, a filter matched to your car's part number, a low-profile drain pan, and a suction rig for cars with awkward sump access. The old oil leaves with us in a sealed container. You stay in the house or at your desk, the car never moves from its bay, and the whole visit usually takes well under an hour from arrival to service reset.
Getting the specification right matters more than the brand on the bottle. We check the viscosity and the manufacturer approval your engine actually needs, not just 5W-30, but whether it has to be a low-ash oil for a petrol particulate filter or carry a specific approval number for a turbocharged German engine. The wrong oil in a modern engine with variable valve timing and a chain-driven camshaft shows up as noise and fault codes months later, long after the receipt has been forgotten.
What a mobile oil and filter service includes
The core of the job is simple. Drain the old oil while it is hot, remove the oil filter, fit a new filter with a lightly oiled seal, replace the sump plug washer, then refill with the measured quantity for your engine. After that we run it, check for weeps at the filter and the plug, let the oil settle, and check the level properly, on the dipstick or through the electronic gauge, at the temperature the manufacturer specifies. A guessed level on a modern engine causes real damage.
Around that we change the air filter and the cabin filter, because in Riyadh both fill with dust long before the mileage says they should. We look over the engine bay while the oil drains: coolant level, brake fluid, power steering, belt condition, and any fresh oil trace around the rocker cover or the crank seals. Finally the service interval is reset in the instrument cluster, so the reminder on your dash matches the work that was actually carried out.
Signs your oil and filters are overdue
- The service reminder or spanner symbol is showing, or the countdown has run out
- Oil on the dipstick that looks black and thin instead of amber and slightly thick
- A ticking or tapping from the top of the engine on a cold January start
- The engine idles rougher in traffic and smooths out again once you move
- A faint burnt-oil smell after a long run on the Northern Ring Road
- Weak airflow from the vents and a dusty or musty smell when the fan comes on
- You cannot remember the last change, or the car came used with no service records
- The level drops between checks, with a small dark patch on the parking space
What we do at your car
- Confirm the exact oil grade, approval and quantity for your engine and model year
- Drain the old oil warm and collect all of it for sealed, legal disposal
- Replace the oil filter and fit a new sump plug sealing washer
- Refill with measured fresh oil, then run the engine to circulate and build pressure
- Leak check at the filter housing, the sump plug and any obvious weep points
- Replace the engine air filter and clear accumulated dust from the airbox
- Replace the cabin filter where the car has an accessible housing
- Check and top up coolant, brake fluid and washer fluid, and inspect belt condition
- Reset the service indicator and leave a record of the oil grade and mileage fitted
Why Riyadh shortens your oil interval
The interval in your handbook was validated in a temperate climate with steady driving. Riyadh gives the oil neither. Sump temperatures sit far higher through a 48°C afternoon, and oxidation roughly doubles for every ten degrees hotter the oil runs, so the additive package and the viscosity index improvers are consumed much faster than the odometer suggests. Then there is idling: an hour crawling on Olaya Street, or waiting with the engine running to keep the air conditioning alive, adds heat and running hours but almost no kilometres.
Dust is the second half of the problem. Fine airborne sand loads an air filter here in a fraction of its rated life, and once the paper is blinded the engine breathes harder while any grit that slips past ends up in the oil as an abrasive. Short winter trips add fuel dilution, which thins the oil further. In practice we advise most Riyadh drivers to work to a shorter interval than the book figure, and to judge it on months as well as kilometres.
Transparent pricing — agreed before we start
The quote depends on your engine: the oil specification and how many litres it takes, whether the filter is a spin-on or a cartridge, and which filters you want changed on the visit. Tell us the model, year and engine when you call and you get the figure before the technician sets off, including the callout to your address. Nothing is added afterwards because a filter turned out to be awkward to reach or the undertray had to come off.
Nothing is added to the figure you approved. The oil goes in, the level is checked, the service light is reset, and the bill matches the number you were given on the phone. Cash, card and bank transfer all work at the car. If we arrive and find something that genuinely changes the job, a stripped sump plug thread or a leaking filter housing for example, we stop, explain it and requote rather than quietly carrying on.

Oil & Filter Change — questions we get
Yes, and most of our oil services happen exactly there. We work on a level bay with a low-profile drain pan and a mat under the car, so nothing reaches the floor. Basement ventilation is not a problem because the engine only runs briefly. If your building bans any work in the car park, we can do it on the street outside or at your office instead.
Shorter than the handbook says. For most cars on full synthetic here we suggest every five to seven thousand kilometres, or every six months if you drive less than that, and sooner again if you do a lot of short trips and idling. Heat degrades oil on a clock as well as a mileage basis, so a car that mostly sits parked still needs the calendar interval.
Usually forty to sixty minutes at the car, including the air and cabin filters and the checks around them. Draining warm oil takes ten to fifteen minutes on its own and we do not rush it, because the last of the old oil carries most of the suspended soot. Cars with a cartridge filter under a plastic undertray take a little longer.
We bring everything: oil to the correct grade and approval, the oil filter, the air filter, the cabin filter and a new sump plug washer. If you have already bought your own oil or filters we are happy to fit them and quote labour only. We will check the specification with you first, so nobody puts the wrong oil into a modern engine.
It leaves with us in a sealed container and goes to a licensed collection point. Nothing is poured into a drain, a storm channel or the sand, and the old filters come away too. This is why a mobile service needs a proper drain pan and a sealed container rather than an open tray, and it is worth asking any mobile technician about before they start.
For most Riyadh addresses we are around 10 minutes away, and we work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Oil changes are usually planned rather than urgent, so most customers book a window: early morning before work, or late evening once the car has cooled and the driveway is free. Same-day slots are normally available.
Yes. We reset the service indicator through the instrument cluster or with a diagnostic tool depending on the make, and on cars with condition-based servicing we reset the correct item rather than the whole schedule. If your car tracks oil quality electronically, resetting the wrong entry gives you a false interval, so it is worth having it done properly.
No, use what the manufacturer approved. Modern engines pump oil through very small control valve galleries and variable timing actuators designed around a specific viscosity, and a thicker grade slows cold flow without helping at operating temperature. What does help is a good full synthetic with the right approval and a shorter change interval. We will show you the specification for your engine.
