Mobile Wheel Alignment & Balancing in Riyadh
Pulling, vibration and uneven tyre wear all trace back to wheel angles and wheel weight. We come to your car anywhere in Riyadh, measure what we can on site, and tell you straight what needs a fixed rig.
A car that drifts towards the hard shoulder on the Northern Ring Road, or a steering wheel that buzzes at 100 km/h, is telling you something measurable. Alignment sets the angles the tyres meet the road at. Balancing sorts out the weight distribution around each wheel and tyre as it spins. They are different jobs with different symptoms, and mixing them up costs people a set of tyres. We check both at your car, then tell you which one you actually need.
Most people call us because a tyre is wearing on one edge, or the wheel shakes between 90 and 120 km/h. We start with a proper look: tyre wear pattern on all four, tread depth across each shoulder, wheel and rim condition, tyre pressures cold, and the play in track rod ends, ball joints and wheel bearings. Alignment numbers mean nothing if a joint is loose. That inspection decides whether the fix is balance weights, a worn part, or a full geometry reset.
Alignment and balancing are two different jobs
Alignment is geometry. Toe, camber and caster describe how each wheel sits relative to the car and the road. Get toe wrong by a fraction of a degree and the tyre is dragged sideways every metre you drive, which shaves the inner or outer edge off the tread in a few thousand kilometres. Alignment faults show up as pulling, a steering wheel that sits crooked when the car goes straight, and wear on one shoulder only.
Balancing is mass. A wheel and tyre assembly is never perfectly even, so small stick-on weights are added to the rim until it spins without wobble. Lose a weight over a kerb in a basement car park, or pick up mud and stones in the rim, and you feel it as vibration through the wheel or the seat at a specific speed band. Balancing does not fix pulling, and alignment does not fix vibration. Treating one when you needed the other is why some cars come back.
Signs your wheels need attention
- The car drifts towards the kerb on a straight, level stretch of the Northern Ring Road if you ease off the wheel
- Steering wheel sits off-centre — the badge is crooked while the car tracks straight
- A buzz or shake through the wheel that starts around 90 km/h, gets worse, then fades
- Vibration felt through the seat and floor rather than the steering wheel
- One tyre worn smooth on the inner edge while the middle still has tread
- Tread that feels like saw teeth when you run your hand across it
- You have to hold pressure on the wheel to keep the car in lane
- New tyres wearing out far earlier than the last set
What the on-site visit covers
- Cold tyre pressure check and correction on all four, set to the door-pillar plate for the load you carry
- Tread depth read across the inner, centre and outer band of each tyre to map the wear pattern
- Wheel and rim inspection for buckles, kerb damage, missing balance weights and trapped stones or mud
- Hands-on check of track rod ends, ball joints, bushes and wheel bearing play — the parts that make alignment drift
- Steering wheel centring and steering-angle sensor behaviour checked on the scan tool where the car supports it
- Wheel balancing on portable equipment, with the wheel removed, cleaned and re-weighted, then torqued to spec
- Toe and thrust-angle measurement on level ground where the surface allows a true reading
- Tyre rotation and re-torque with a calibrated torque wrench, not an impact gun
- A written verdict: what we corrected on site, and what needs a fixed alignment rig
What Riyadh roads do to wheel geometry
Riyadh punishes alignment in specific ways. Kerbs at villa and compound entrances are high and square, and the front wheel takes the hit at an angle. Ramp lips into basement car parks off Olaya Street knock camber out over time. Unmarked speed humps in residential streets, taken at 40 km/h in the dark, load one side of the suspension hard enough to shift a track rod. Add road patches and construction detours on the Eastern Ring Road and a car can go out of geometry in a single week.
Heat changes the picture too. At 48°C the road surface can pass 70°C, tyre pressure climbs several psi while you drive, and rubber runs soft. A small toe error that would take 20,000 km to show in a mild climate eats an inner shoulder here in a few months. Dust also plays a part: sand packs into rim wells and behind wheel weights, so a wheel balanced in winter can read out by 15 grams by summer. We clean the rim seat before we balance, every time.
Transparent pricing — agreed before we start
We quote before we touch anything. The technician arrives, inspects the wheels, tyres and steering joints, and then tells you what the job is and what it costs — balancing, a worn part, a geometry correction, or a rig visit. If the inspection shows the vibration is a bent rim or a failing wheel bearing rather than balance, you hear that first, with the price for that work instead. No surprise line items when the job is finished.
We quote first, and that is what you pay. You will have driven the car far enough to feel the difference before the technician leaves, and the amount settled by cash, card or bank transfer is the amount you approved. If the honest answer is that your car needs a fixed alignment rig for a camber or caster adjustment we cannot make properly on a driveway, we say so and charge only for the inspection work we actually did. We would rather lose that job than take money for a reading we do not trust.

Alignment & Balancing — questions we get
We can measure and correct toe on level ground, and we balance wheels on site with portable equipment. What we cannot fake is a level surface. A sloping driveway or a cambered street gives false camber and caster readings, so for those adjustments we book the car onto a proper rig. On a flat compound driveway or a level basement floor, we get numbers we trust.
Around 10 minutes to most Riyadh addresses, day or night, seven days a week including Fridays, Ramadan and Eid. Call or WhatsApp the same number, send your location pin, and tell us the speed the vibration starts at. That one detail lets the technician bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of coming back.
A speed-specific shake is almost always rotating imbalance. Each wheel has a natural frequency, and at one road speed the out-of-balance mass hits it, so the wobble peaks then fades as you go faster. Front wheels usually shake the steering wheel; rear wheels shake the seat and floor. Bent rims, a separated tyre belt and a worn wheel bearing can mimic it, which is why we inspect before we add weights.
Often, but not always. Check tyre pressures first, because a soft tyre on one side pulls hard. After that the usual causes are a toe or camber error, a tyre with uneven internal construction, a sticking brake caliper dragging on one side, or a worn suspension bush. Road camber alone makes most cars lean right slightly. We test-drive, then measure, so you are not paying for the wrong repair.
Once a year for a car that mostly sees King Fahd Road and smooth asphalt, and every six months if you regularly cross construction zones, high kerbs or unpaved compound entrances. Always check after fitting new tyres, after any suspension or steering part is replaced, and after a hard kerb strike. If a new set of tyres is wearing unevenly in the first few thousand kilometres, check it immediately.
No. On-car balancing exists, but it balances the wheel with the hub, disc and bearing as one unit and hides a genuinely bad tyre. We take each wheel off, clean the rim bead seat and the hub face, check for buckle and old weights, then balance the wheel and tyre on their own. It takes longer and it is the only way to get a reading that stays true.
Yes. Constant sideways scrub loads wheel bearings and puts steady pressure on tie rod ends and CV joints, so they wear faster. It also drags fuel economy down slightly, because the tyres are fighting each other. The biggest cost is still rubber: a toe error can destroy a pair of tyres well before their tread life is up, and in Riyadh heat that happens quickly.
